{"id":1497,"date":"2021-06-30T13:45:19","date_gmt":"2021-06-30T13:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/news\/the-numbers-of-the-pnrr-italys-recovery-plan\/"},"modified":"2021-07-12T14:37:44","modified_gmt":"2021-07-12T14:37:44","slug":"italys-recovery-plna-pnrr-and-reshaping-of-italian-health-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/en\/news\/italys-recovery-plna-pnrr-and-reshaping-of-italian-health-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy\u2019s Recovery Plan (PNRR) and the reshaping of the Italian health system"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.governo.it\/sites\/governo.it\/files\/PNRR.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Italian Recovery Plan (in Italian)<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Europe has responded to the pandemic crisis with an unprecedented investment programme having highly ambitious objectives, where Italy will be one of the first recipients.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Between 2021 and 2026, EUR 191.5 billion are to be allocated to Italy<\/strong> (through RRF + REACT-EU, Recovery and Resilience Facility + Recovery Assistance for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Italian plan for recovery (PNRR) has six missions: digitalisation, innovation, competitiveness, culture and tourism; green revolution and ecological transition; infrastructure for sustainable mobility; education and research; inclusion and cohesion; health.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Government will implement four important reforms: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>public administration<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>justice<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>simplification of legislation<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>promotion of competition<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is estimated that in 2016 Italy&#8217;s gross domestic product will be 3.6 percentage points higher than the trend and that in the next three years (2024-2026) employment will be 3.2 percentage points higher.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is changing in the Italian health system? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are moving towards a health system that supports scientific research, strengthens prevention, and brings &#8216;medicine home&#8217;. The view is that of a digital health service which integrates health and social services. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PNRR aims to renovate healthcare in Italy by upgrading its technological infrastructure, strengthening the training of operators and creating contact points with citizens, also through telemedicine. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/salute-pnrr.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1490\" width=\"664\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/salute-pnrr.png 1002w, https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/salute-pnrr-300x57.png 300w, https:\/\/bestinhealth.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/salute-pnrr-768x146.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>development of proximity networks<\/strong> is envisaged with the construction of facilities for territorial assistance and the <strong>enhancement of telemedicine<\/strong> (7 billion euros). A consistent development of services is sought throughout Italy by building 1288 community houses to provide personal care, 602 territorial operational centres to coordinate home and health services, 381 community hospitals for low-intensity clinical services and short stays, managed mainly by nursing staff.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purchase of <strong>3,133 pieces of high-tech medical equipment is planned<\/strong> (CT scans, magnetic resonance scans, linear accelerators, fixed X-ray systems, angiographs, gamma cameras, mammographs, echotomographs), the <strong>strengthening of intensive care units (+3500 beds)<\/strong> and the strengthening of <strong>semi-intensive care units (+4225 beds)<\/strong> and the <strong>digital enhancement of the Emergency and Admission Departments<\/strong> (+ 280 DEAs). In addition, <strong>1.64 billion Euros are earmarked for the structural and technological renovation and modernisation of health property assets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reskilling and Upskilling <\/strong>are an integral part of the investment plan, alongside more transparent criteria for accreditation and <strong>quality checks on the actual performance of health workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Italy will therefore see a major stream of ideas and initiatives in the coming years, both promoted by the public administration and by the private sector.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We at Best In Health are ready.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Italian Recovery Plan (in Italian) Europe has responded to the pandemic crisis with an unprecedented investment programme having highly ambitious objectives, where Italy will be one of the first recipients.
